On December 1-7, 2018 PSU representatives including Associate Professor and PhD in Economics Inga Zenkova and Associate Professor Zhonghua Li visited the People’s Republic of China.
During the visit, the PSU team met the administration of Beijing Jiao Tong University, BJTU (Weihai). The administration included BJTU Assistant President Yugong Xu, Vice President Yanlei Bai and Yue Pan, a specialist of the International Office. During the meeting, both parties agreed on:
- Development and implementation of research projects;
- Holding conferences and seminars;
- Organization of summer schools in various directions;
- Creation and implementation of joint academic programmes.
Besides, PSU lecturers discussed perspectives for academic cooperation and staff/student exchange with the representatives of Weihai Campus Administrative Committee, Lancaster University College at BJTU and Rochester Institute of Technology.
The result of the meeting with the administration of Weihai Vocational College led by Vice Rector, Head of the Technical Education Department Dong Xian is the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Department of Economics at PSU and Economics and Management Department at WVC. The cooperation makes it possible for the college students to enter PSU and for the universities to develop fruitful contacts in the sphere of academic staff exchange. Besides, Inga Zenkova and Zhonghua Li have become visiting professors at Weihai Vocational College for the period of 5 years.
PSU team visited Weihai Jingyi School of Foreign Languages and met with Chinese schoolchildren. Inga Zenkova and Zhonghua Li told the children about international labour market, the importance of studying abroad, establishing business process among countries and continents, the university role in the modern world as well as the past and future of Polotsk land and PSU itself. Vice President of the school Shi Shuji, in his turn, noticed the importance of the fact that today’s children understand the global culture and the difference in time zones.
This cooperation makes it possible for Chinese schoolchildren to study Japanese, Korean and Russian, to participate in joint summer schools and competitions and learn about the achievements of Belarusian Culture.
We hope that each participant will greatly benefit from this intercontinental cooperation.
