At the beginning of July 2019, University Rector Dmitry Lazovsky and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yury Golubev visited Tashkent Financial Institute (Republic of Uzbekistan) to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and open a joint faculty of the two universities.
The following representatives of Tashkent Financial Institute attended the solemn signing ceremony: TFI Rector Azizov Ulugbek Uktamovich, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Kuziyev Islom Nematovich, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations Karimkulov Jasur Imomboyevich, Head of Curriculum and Instruction Department Baimuratov Tursunbai Makhkambayevich, Professor at the Department of Budgetary Accounting Mekhmonov Sultonali Umaraliyevich.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of questions concerning education, research and innovation activities at the Joint PSU-TFI Faculty. In particular, the parties signed the agreement on providing joint Bachelor’s degree programmes in “Accounting, Analysis and Audit” and “Finance and Credit”. Besides, the Joint PSU-TFI Faculty offers Master’s degree programmes. In addition, a plan for promoting cooperation between TFI and PSU has been approved.
Yury Golubev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at PSU expresses his feelings: “The opening of the joint faculty is the result of a long-term and fruitful collaboration between Tashkent Financial Institute and Polotsk State University. In the academic year 2019-2020, we have a lot of joint projects ahead of us. This is student/staff mobility, the publication of instructional materials, participation in scientific conferences, seminars and internships and presentation of research papers. Our colleagues from Uzbekistan will have a good opportunity to spend their summer weekends in Summer Schools at Polotsk State University. We hope the Joint PSU-TFI Faculty will succeed!”
