The opening of training courses in the Chinese language was held in the educational institution Polotsk State Gymnasium No. 2. Here children learned the basics of Asian culture through one of its most important elements, the native language. It was especially important that the teacher was a direct bearer of ancient and multifaceted Chinese culture, a student of our university and a volunteer of the Confucius Institute She Danhui.
The lesson
At the lesson the kids got acquainted with the basis of each dialogue, greeting and acquaintance. The pupils’ positive attitude and openness to everything new left a bright impression on this school day.
Continuing the study of the Chinese language, the pupils also get acquainted with the culture of China and its traditions. Especially bright for the students was the Chinese New Year, which they celebrated with a volunteer, and learned the peculiarities of this holiday in China.
The lesson
She Danhui told us about the basis of these lessons and the attitude of the pupils: ‘In China, I taught students and schoolchildren. Through this experience, I try to convey to them the mood and character of our culture and people, to introduce them to the rich language and its characteristics. All the guys are very nice and responsive, they have a very responsible approach to learning the language and work well on pronunciation. I am always happy to meet new students’.
