On March 21, 2019, the final results of the XXV Republican Contest of Students’ Scientific Works were announced after the wrap-up session of the organizing committee.
4019 students and graduates of higher educational establishments who took part in the contest in 2018 presented 3703 works. On the number of works sent to the contest, Polotsk State University is the 4th out of 54 universities.
To a large extent, the quality of students’ works depends on the academic supervisor’s competence. Better results are achieved thanks to well coordinated work of the authors and their academic supervisors. Thus, 186 works out of 218 submitted to the contest were awarded categories. Moreover, 54 of them were awarded the 1st category.
The authors of two works were received the status of laureates:
- Graduate student Irina Zakharova, academic supervisor - Ryhkard Bohush, PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Computing Systems and Networks;
- Viktoria Berdovich, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Law, academic supervisor - Dmitry Shcherbik, PhD in Law, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law.
Besides, the university administration encourages students to participate in research work and gives material rewards to the authors whose works will be awarded categories.
We would like to thank the academic supervisors and the students for their interest in research activity. We hope that this year our junior researchers will show high results as well.
