On February 21 the workers of Geodetic and Cartographic Service of Belarus celebrate their professional holiday.
This day our correspondent had an interview with Galina Sharoglazova, the head of the Departmenr of Geodesy and Cadastre.
Ms Sharoglazova shared her ideas about PSU's Geodetic Faculty and about the role of Geodesy in modern life.
Our Faculty of Geodesy is very young in comparison to similar faculties of Russian High Schools. And the professional holiday is even younger. It has started to be celebrated since the end of last century.
Nowadays geodesists have many roads in front of them. They are badly needed in geodetic organizations, in building, cadastre agencies, architecture departmenrs, scientific institutions, and High Schools. Geodetic study is making a great step towards hi-tech, i. e. satellite measurings, electronic geodetic gadgets, computer software for dealing with the results of geodetic measuremenrs, scanned pictures, etc.
This year PSU's Faculty of Geodesy celebrates its 35th Birthday. Galina Sharoglazova wishes new discoveries and achievements to all lecturers and students of the Faculry.
