Ekaterina Mayorova, a postgraduate student, Viktoriya Liakhovich and Dmitry Yukhno, students from the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology, represented Polotsk State University. Yuliya Bulavka, their supervidor and Associate Professor from the Department of Technology and Equipment of Oil and Gas Processing, accompanied young researchers.
Ekaterina Mayorova`s paper was headlined as «Oil sorbents processing by plant-growing waste recycling». The Expert Panel admitted the research to be the winner for «Chemical engineering and environmental impact of the petroleum industry». Further, Ekaterina Mayorova was awarded oil and gas companies memorable gifts and a First Class Certificate signed by the Secretary of State for Energy of the Russian Federation. Sergey Yakubovsky and Yuliya Bulavka, Associate Professors at the Department of Technology and Equipment of Oil and Gas Processing, acted as supervisors of Ekaterina Mayorova.
The research of Viktoriya Liakhovich «Antifreeze substances collected from petroleum and chemical waste for petroleum coke transportation» was considered to be a silver medalist for «Chemical engineering and environmental impact of the petroleum industry». Viktoriya Liakhovich was also awarded oil and gas companies memorable gifts and a Second Class Certificate signed by the Secretary of State for Energy of the Russian Federation. The student`s research was supervised by Yuliya Bulavka, Associate Professor at the Department of Technology and Equipment of Oil and Gas Processing.
The conference program also presupposed a shirtsleeve meeting where the participants were welcomed to pose questions to Heads of the relevant agencies and oil and gas companies. The students from our university visited the meeting as well.
Under the initiative of the Society of Petroleum Engineers Student Chapter the 2nd All-Russian Intellectual Game for Oil and Gas Industry Young Researchers «Petroleum Owl» was established. The event gathered 83 teams from the Russian and foreign universities. PSU students also collaborated to appear as the team psu-nafta.by. To add a few words, the guys led the game successfully. Roman Riabukhin, our graduate and a member of «LUCOIL International» Moscow branch, came to support the team.

Viktoriya Liakhovich and Ekaterina Mayorova, the winners of the International Youth Scientific Conference «Oil and gas – 2018», received the invitations from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas for postgraduate studying. Nevertheless, we hope our students will choose Polotsk State University for making this step. We, in our turn, provide all necessary conditions! Congratulations to colleagues and students!»
