On November 15-16, 2018 V Annual Belarus-China Youth Innovation Forum “New Horizons 2018” was held in the BNTU science and technology park “Polytechnic”. PSU was represented by lecturers and students of the Department of Economics (Faculty of Finance and Economics) and by postgraduate students of the Department of Construction Industry (Faculty of Civil Engineering).
The forum was held under the auspices of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus, the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the People’s Republic of China, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and “Huawei Technologies” Company.
The special guests facilitating relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Belarus in the field of science and technology were invited to the forum. Among them were the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus, State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian National Technical University, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone.
The forum included the following scientific sections:
- Mechanical Engineering. New Materials;
- Construction and Architecture;
- Sports Engineering. Medical Technologies. Recovery and Rehabilitation;
- Information Technologies. Instrument Engineering. Robotics. Artificial Intelligence;
- Intercultural Communications and Humanitarian Cooperation between Belarus and China.
The PSU representatives successfully presented their reports in the section “Construction and Architecture”:
“The Effect of Heat Treatment on Geopolymer Binder Properties” – presented by Yekaterina Razuyeva (an assistant lecturer at the Department of Construction Industry; academic supervisor – Lyudmila Parfenova);
«The Identification of the Stress-Strain State of Concrete Using Depth Sensors» - presented by Egor Trambitsky (an assistant lecturer at the Department of Construction Industry; academic supervisor – Dmitry Shabanov).
Egor Trambitsky’s report was recognized as the best one in the section!
Lecturers and students of the Department of Economics took an active part in the section “Intercultural Communications and Humanitarian Cooperation between Belarus and China” and presented the following reports:
- “Cooperation and External Trade between the Republic of Belarus and China” – student Diana Svitina (academic supervisor – Inga Zenkova, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Economics);
- “Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and China: Trends and Perspectives” – student Anastasia Zhin (academic supervisor – Elena Bogdanova, senior lecturer at the Department of Economics);
- “Effectiveness of Investments in Human Capital in Professional Sport” – Alexander Matviyenko, senior lecturer at the Department of Economics;
- “Behavioural Economics: the Impact on the Educational Process” – student Irina Tarasevich (academic supervisor – Inga Zenkova, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Economics).
Students Veronika Minchukova and Kristina Solovyova took part in the section as well.
The conference participants attended the following events:
- A workshop “A Unique Business Platform for Developing International High-Tech Cooperation”;
- “Success Stories” Exhibition;
- BNTU Confucius Institute on Science and Technology;
- “Advanced Technologies” Exhibition;
- Tea ceremony;
- Master class in calligraphy;
- China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone.
The scientific forum results and achievements of Belarus-China cooperation were presented at the solemn closing ceremony in Great Stone industrial park.
