On April 12, 2019, the III University Stage of “Falling Walls” International Science Slam Competition took place in the concert hall of Polotsk College. Young Researchers Council and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) were the event organizers.

Georgia Mattias, a lecturer of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at PSU, opened the event with a welcoming speech. Georgia mentioned the importance of the event explaining that this competition unites various scientific areas, promotes junior researchers’ creative potential development, encourages to improve their command of English in the professional sphere since all the presentations are to be presented in English.

G. Mattias expressed her gratitude to all competition participants noting that our university is in good standing with the organizers and representatives of DAAD in Berlin. Among the PSU representatives there are two students who have already become the winners of the republican stage and performed honorably in the International stage: Aleksey Burak in 2017 and Egor Trambitsky in 2018.

Egor Trambitsky, the winner of the Falling Walls Conference in 2018, gave his speech in English, sharing his experience in participation in such events and wishing all the participants successful performance and good mood.

Winners of the “Falling Walls 2019”

We are pleased to note that this competition extends the borders since two international students have participated and won this year.

And already on May 25, 2019 the four winners will take part in the republican stage held at Belarusian State University, Minsk. All the participants will have a unique opportunity to take a week-long course in public speaking in the Falling Walls format.

The winner of the republican stage will represent Belarus in autumn of 2019 in Berlin (Germany) at the Falling Walls Conference 2019.

We congratulate the winners and the participants on successful performance and wish them further creative success and scientific breakthroughs!
