On March 27, 2018 the vocational guidance quiz «The future together with us», held for schoolchildren in Novopolotsk, took place at PSU in Mezhdurechye. The organizers of the events were the following: Polotsk State University and the Department for Education, Sports and Tourism of Novopolotsk City Executive Committee.
Annually the events, aimed at the vocational guidance, are held at our university in order to develop work with applicants and for an active involvement of the student community to the vocational guidance at Faculties and the University. This time the event was represented by 9 platforms where the future students had an opportunity to have a look at the study programmes of faculties and to get acquainted with different student activities.
The students at the Faculty of Finance and Economics delivered their video presentation «Best Faculty», also gave a traditional quiz. All the schoolchildren had an opportunity to get acquainted with Chinese, to get to know some interesting facts about Chinese culture. The Faculty offers a study programme in Economics with an in-depth study of the Chinese language and culture, also learning Chinese with its native speakers. Due to the cooperation with Chinese universities, students can have internships, which are free of charge, and participate in Summer schools. The future students of the Faculty also have a possibility to study Bachelor and Master programmes of double diploma – joint programmes with Poland and Latvia.
This year the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology was represented by the study programmes of fuel and energy complex. The schoolchildren got to know about some professional aspects of engineers, mechanical engineers and inspectors. The students and lecturers of the Faculty presented the automobile transport and creative works made of metal and other materials.
The Faculty of Radio Engineering demonstrated the robotics features.
The students at the Faculty of Civil Engineering delivered a presentation of all the study programmes, also talked about the advantages of the study process
The Faculty of Information Technologies presented to the schoolchildren the game program, developed by students specialized in software engineering, and the information about geodetic direction.
The students at the Faculty of Humanities told about their study programmes and their peculiarities, study process, development for students, their personal skills in order to become highly skilled specialists in the field of sport, history, tourism, development and management of these spheres.
The Faculty of Law attracted the guests by the work of criminalistics room. The schoolchildren have had an opportunity to know, how the evidence collection is carried out, to detect counterfeit money. They also took part in the dactyloscopy procedure and got to know about some court peculiarities.
The staff of the Tourist centre at the University told about their excursion and tourist direction, also the traditions of our university through the virtual excursion around PSU campus in Polotsk.
The sector with volunteers inspired the schoolchildren with positive emotions and great mood.

Sergey Buganov: «I’m here for the first time, but I have only wonderful impressions. I like absolutely everything! The information is very useful, interesting and detailed!»
Natalia Khodasevich: «I like 3D-technologies and IT-technologies most of all. Such events help to define our future career».
Vera Shauro: «I like the linguistic direction! I think such events are very useful: if you don’t know what kind of profession to choose, the participation in the quiz will help you to do that!»
Pavel Flanchev: «I attended such an event two years ago. It helped me to define the right direction in choosing my future profession in the field of mechatronics and robotics or programming and design in robotics sphere. I would like to create devices, which will help disabled people. Today I’m really impressed by the Faculty of Law: I like the criminalistics and the courtroom. It’s been interesting to do a composition and listen to the voice alteration. I like your volunteers. They presented different psychological trainings and competitions. Also I remember a sports performance at the Faculty of Humanities. So I have a lot of impressions!»
The event was ended up with a creative presentation «TALENT.psu.by» by students of Polotsk State University.
